BERLIN, N.H. – New Hampshire State Police canceled an Amber Alert Friday morning after two missing girls were found safe. The alert was issued after their mother was found dead in a home in Berlin.
The girls were believed to be with their father, Dustin Duren. New Hampshire State Police have not said if he has been found and they have not revealed yet where his daughters were located.
A few minutes after the announcement in New Hampshire, Massachusetts State Police tweeted “the suspect is in custody in Keene, NH.”
New Hampshire Attorney General John Formella said it all began with a suspicious death Thursday night. Police found the body of 31-year-old Caitlyn Naffziger in an apartment on Main Street in Berlin.
“As part of the investigation, authorities issued an Amber Alert asking for the public’s assistance,” Formella said in a statement.
Her two children, a 4-year-old girl and a 1-year-old girl, were last seen in Berlin, New Hampshire, around 8 p.m. Thursday with their biological father, 37-year-old Dustin Mark Duren, Formella said.
New Hampshire State Police released photos of all three and the car he may have been driving early Friday morning,
